Regardless of how let down I was with 3 I still love the universe so this makes me giddy like a school girl.

I had kind of figured that Mass Effect 4 was in development. It's an EA property, we'll keep seeing new Mass Effect games until they milk the franchise for all its worth.

On a side note, I still haven't played ME3. I played the first two and enjoyed them both, but I have yet to purchase any games that require me to use something other than Battle-Net or Steam.

If you're willing to use Battle.net and Steam, you'd might as well use Origin. It's not like companies are actually ethical (or inherently secure); some just convince you to believe they are more ethical than others for a time, to their possible financial benefit.

Outside of that, if you're not dying to play ME3, wait for the inevitable sales. Only CoD holds it's value over time.

EA's Origin isnt as bad as everyone makes it seems. But its years behind Steam with its capabilities. Its also not as intuitive as Steam. While I prefer Steam I do have Origin installed.

It works. It even works through symbolic links without a hitch, but sometimes it does need to be beat into submission.

I've only had cloud save issues with Steam. Origin always downloads things properly.

I mean in general I prefer Steam but I think the Origin and EA hate is way overblown.

Meh... After suffering through the awful ME3 endings, playing the very... different "Kirkwall Age 2" and the very poor generic MMORPG game called SWTOR, I have no faith that next ME will be more enjoyable than all the recent garbage Bioware produced. Will probably be a BF3 clone (especially since it will be based on the same engine) with ME character/weapon/vehicle models

They could make it revolve around the Rachni War or even the First Contact war. There's a fair amount of material to work with that doesn't involve Shepard. I kinda hoping for the Rachni War angle with no human protagonist.

ME1-3 was supposed to all about Shepard and all of the possible endings pretty much tie up any major loose ends.

The multiplayer in ME3 is incredibly full-featured and they've been adding stuff for months. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are considering another game.

The me3 mp really has no right at all to be as fun as it is, but for some reason, it really works, despite the weird faults they have. But a new game with similar and even more full featured MP would definitely get a nice welcome. I dont have that much time into the MP, and it is still somewhat 130 hours or so...

If they at least get frostbite on the team I hope they get people to do their netcode for them. I can happily play battlefield on east-coast us servers from northern europe, but playing ME3 MP is very hit or miss when it comes to lag, because the netcode is horrible, and actually some abilities just cant be used properly unless you are the host for a game, etc.

The Mass effect franchise is dead to me since a whole bunch of Bioware guys quit, They provided very unsatisfying endings for ME3 (twice) and made 0-day DLC which is just shameful behavour.

It also irks me that after entire trilogy of player choices across dozens (maybe even hundreds) of junction points boil down to whether the single ending video was played with a red tint, a blue tint, or a green tint. Really? With all that budget at their disposal that is the best they could manage?

One might harp on about that, personally, I just chalk it down to a really distasteful powergrab by that twat casey that seemed to have taken it upon himself to finish up what a huge amount of people had worked on for ages that and focus on the other 90% of the games, and suddenly, it doesnt feel that bad. But yeah... I wish stuff had actally mattered in the end.

I still haven't seen the Extended Cut ending. I guess I'll check it out after Omega.

Man it'll be great to have this series off dx9, especially if the multiplayer is as engaging. I didn't expect to care about multi at all but I can't stop playing it.

Not even worth downloading the Extended Cut.. you basically get a 1G of the ending movies. Just watch them on Youtube and save yourself the time

Already did a while ago.

I wasn't that unhappy with the ending really. It wasn't the greatest thing ever but game endings being stupid has been a thing since I started playing games in the 80s, so whatever works.

Were the extended cuts just slightly longer versions of the same video available in red/green/blue options?
The original ME3 endings were so underwhelming I can't even be bothered to YouTube the Extended ones.
