no driver support in 95 want to put win 2000

a friend of mine got a old laptop and asked if i could put the drivers on it for a pcmcia cd-rom drive problem is the os is win 95 with no driver support for win 95 i have looked all over the net and found drivers for it on driver.com but went to install and it said does not suport os version.i would like to put win 2000 on it for him he has bought 2000 for it but cant get the cd-rom working

Win2K has a routine (maketo create a series of boot floppy disks, that you can then use to get the install going via CD. I haven't tried it on many laptops, but it's pretty bullet-proof, in that I've never had it fail to detect and mount the CD for installation purposes.

It's called "MAKEBOOT" and it's in the "BOOTDISK" folder. Place disk in working computer, go to a DOS window, and have four blank floppies ready.
