Mobile on non mobile chip

Postposted on Fri Sep 24, 2004 11:49 am

Can someone tell me the advantages over a mobile chip vs a non mobile?

I want to get a laptop, and can get a 64bit AMD 3000 or a 2400+ mobile...

The main benefit of a mobile chip is that it's less power-hungry. If the chip consumes less power, the user would worry less about carrying around extra batteries for the laptop. But then again, you only need to worry about that if you do a lot of traveling with the laptop.

if you're going to get an AMD, you shouldn't be worried about battery life, and just get the athlon64

if you're looking for a mobile laptop, dothan is impossible to beat.

Exactly... if you want battery life you can choose Centrino or Pentium-M :D
Otherwise get AMD

how long do you think an AMD would last if you compaired it to an athlon mobile XP?
