$1000 for Sandy Bridge Lap with SSD?

I am looking to buy a good 15inch laptop that will not be used for gaming at all. $1000 is my price point, any recommendations?

It looks like newegg has a handful of sandy bridge laptops out now... i5's and i7's

If you're not doing something computationally-intensive, a dual-core Intel Sandy Bridge processor (e.g.: Core i3-2310M or Core i5-25xxM or Core i5-25xxE) should provide good performance while saving cost and power.

For half of your budget, an AMD Brazos E-350 Fusion-based system might handle your non-gaming tasks.

I havnt seen notebooks with SSDs that cheap
probably it would be better to buy a dual slot notebook and add your own

What are you doing with it? are you going to be doing cpu intensive tasks? is battery life a concern? I'd need more information before suggesting something.

Echoing SSKs concerns, adding, why SNB?
For tasks not including games, the difference between SNB and previous setups is typically imperceptible on the desktop, particularly with anything approaching a decent SSD. Enough cores and enough memory, whether AMD or Intel, and it's very doubtful you'd be able to tell the difference, unless of course you have something that is computationally intensive as SSK mentioned.

Additionally, what screen resolution and quality preferences do you have, and what input devices do you prefer? Do you want a full 10-key?
