3G frequency doubt

Mon Sep 05, 2011 10:00 am

Hi guys,

I have a doubt regarding 3G frequencies. From what I understand the 3G operating frequencies in Singapore(where I stay) is 2100Mhz. If i get a phone which has the specs GSM 850/1800/1900Mhz I wont be able to use it in Singapore. But when I talked to the customer care of that site she confirmed that the phone will work in Singapore. This confuses me. Can someone explain as to if or not this phone will work in Singapore or not. Any information would be very helpful. Thanks

The phone will work, but it won't work on the 3G network. It will revert to Edge, I believe. You really need a phone that specifically states it supports the 2100MHz band if you want 3G access.

The current Nexus S supports the 2100MHz band, so that would be a better option.
