Late to the party as always. Sony stopped being interesting years ago. They went from being innovators to renovators of old ideas.

They were late with MP3 players, all-in-ones, netbooks, Android phones, and now tablets - to name just a few.
I remember their Trinitron, Walkman, Discman, Minidisc days from before they got old and fat.

The only way for Sony to regain its position is to develop something innovative, something that Google or Apple can't do. Otherwise, it will remain just a good hardware maker. Not more.

Sony needs to dump the content side of the house, and clean out their management. They've become incredibly risk adverse, and the content guys keep hamstringing them by insisting on DRM and proprietary solutions.
