Need an SD Card for the S3

Postposted on Thu Jan 31, 2013 7:17 pm

I am getting a Samsung Galaxy S3 any day now. One reason is that it has a Micro SD card slot in the back (for music, files, photos etc.) . . . . . unlike an iPhone which requires more $$$$$. There are two SDXC cards that are compatible at 64GB (the maximum allowed in the GS3): The Ultra 64GB and The Extreme 64GB.

Please advise as to which one is most compatible with this phone. Thank you in advance.

N.B. I have just found out that the Extreme 64GB is NOT in micro SDXC format. I am still open to suggestions as to which 64GB micro SDXC card is best for the smartphone.

be very careful with sd cards for the galaxy s3, a buddy of mine came to me the other day and said his sd card had been reformatted, (by the phone, not by him) after some research, it seems the s3 is notorious for killing sd cards, and also that a lot of people had trouble with any cards bigger than 32. i only reply because i dont want to see someone else loose lots of data which could be very important, (for him, hundreds of pictures of his kids, from birth on wards) so he was quite distraught. google it, there seems to be lots of people with this problem, regardless of what brand or size sd card.
