Netgear WNR3500L help

Postposted on Fri Mar 12, 2010 11:10 pm

Hiya all,

With a huge base of geek (no offense), I thought I would pop the question here.

Anyway, I just got a Netgear WNR3500L Gigabit router. It is really nice and takes open source firmware and all. But that is not the point here. I need some help or clarification. This router has a USB port that lets you plug a printer, flash or external HDD to. Pretty niffy actually. When I transfer files to it, it only goes up to 2 mb/s and that is horrible. I have been checking around the web about this and it looks like it is normal, but I can't believe that. Is that true. My drive is setup as NTFS and others say that FAT32 brings the speeds up to 8 mb/s, but FAT32 is just not an option for me.

So, you all have any suggestions or bright ideas?

Thanks!
A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective.
