Actually, yes, I had a full DS3 in my office a few years ago. I have no speed tests to post, but we used it to support 3000+ customers (along with Packeteers and Bluesockets to ensure no one individual killed all the b/w). Once management (in their infinite "wisdom") decided to break the individual sites up with PtP bonded T1s and/or ADSL, and ditch the costly DS3, AT&T forgot to shut the circuit down for three months and collect their 7200VXR and Wideband Reach. The field techs and I had a blast torrenting the living piss out of that connection. It was GLORIOUS. 45Mbps full symmetric was amazing, considering the best residential circuit in town was in the 3-6Mbps rate. We filled up 8TBs of HDD space before the circuit was finally cut.

I didn't know that Comcast was operating in Sweden.

The first three letters are the same, and their ability to bundle stuff. IIRC, it actually started out as a governmentally owned subsidiary of the Royal Electric Telegraph Agency. Which might explain a bit of the still draconian stuff.

And the last years, they've had great support. Last year when Netflix made it big here in Sweden, they actually had an oversaturated link to my neighborhood, so latency and congestion sat in during evenings, but I got good help and they managed to double of the neighbourhood link to 20Gbit's within just over a week. Which is decently fast for an upgrade.

Although, they do deliver on their bandwidth at least... and for $62 (todays currency) its decent. Although I'm in the group that are supposed to be taking in offers for pulling open fiber for the apartment association I'm living in. So with a bit of luck, I might be able to get 1000/100 by this time in a year for about the same price or slightly above. And with more luck, from an ISP that don't save the customer traffic info if they prevail in the EU courts.

well im running a 4G connection which is upto 150mbps but get about 100 in good times and pay a fraction of what the DSL or Fiber would cost me (about 30$ a month) for unlimited downloads, and actually its been working free since my last recharge for 3 months got over lucky me i guess :P

This is at my uni, in the dorms. And the funny part is, this speedtest was on 802.11n - I actually get the fastest results there (with a good wifi card) since our ethernet connections in the rooms are only 100mbps, but their APs obviously have faster links on the backend. I don't think I get cable TV in the dorm (aside from shared rooms), but I never watch that anyway. 300mbps link to the AP, 5GHz card. Unfortunately, even though this is a 7260AC, I didn't get any faster speeds when around the few 802.11ac APs on campus, even though my link speeds are higher. I never would've guessed how bad 2.4GHz can be in these environments until I moved here - I have an x120e with a 2.4GHz realtek card, and I get speeds around 8mbps down/10mbps up, whether using my 802.11b/g (2.4GHz) router or the uni APs. And I can see a crapton of APs at any given time, on both channels, mostly from the uni.

That said, it's still not enough incentive for me to stay in the dorms past my freshman year - not like I have time for lots of gaming and Steam downloads anyway. (And with moving out, comes a need to deal with Comcast again...)

I've recently been very impressed with the speed on my 4G. We have 10/1 at home through cable, for reference. (my uses don't warrant anything faster. Netflix works well enough).
I guess Verizon rolled out their new ZLTE (or whatever they call it) in Orlando not too long ago. Last Saturday on the couch at a friends house, it was 43452 down, 17365 up (iphone 5S), 39286 down, 23064 up in the middle of Universal, 34675 down 9326 up in the middle of Disney.

To add another angle to this, how much are you guys paying a month for your internet?

For my Frontier DSL, I think it's currently rated $45/mo, but I also get a deal because I have 2 lines to help make up for the general slowness, so I probably end up paying like $35 for each line.

Damn it, I need to run a speedtest over gigabit ethernet somewhere around here...

Although I've gotten speeds like 800/800mbps at work (a school district). We have a gigabit connection for the whole district (multiple sites), and I was at the site where the connection actually comes in. And that was during the summer, so no one but the techs and maintenance staff are at most of the schools.

We actually have 10GigE coming into the Datacenter from our "ISP", but our link is "only" GigE to their router.

I was happy when this was 25/5 a couple of years ago. Cox recently doubled their download speeds so my 50/10 went to 100/10. I've always had better upload speeds than what they advertise. I've seen it spike up to 20 occasionally.

Usually it's a bit higher, but not by much. Currently limited by my home router (not AT&T's equipment), hence my thread:

Be nice to see some prices to go with these speeds. Then we'll see who's over charging. AT&T in the mountains is charging $30 or $40 for a DSL that does about 1.5/0.1 Don't have proof but next time I'm up that ways I'll try to remember to get a speed test and I'll ask the price the person is paying. I know it made me mad when I heard it.

That would require both a computer with a 100 Gigabit NIC, and a Speedtest.net server connected to at least 100 Gigabit. :(

It'd be impressive to see though!

You realize that 100Gbps line is a backbone and there's no server out there that allocates that much bandwidth to a single node?

Wanna bet?

No, I don't have a server with a 100G line card, but I do have one with a 40G card with a direct link to that 100G line on the switch. I think it'd be fun to max out whatever servers Speedtest.net is hosting though. :)

It also wouldn't take much (other than money, of course) to put three 40Gig NICs in an LACP team.
