Well i had 35 down 35 up from verizon fios with actual speeds of 43 down and 18 up..upload does not matter to me since i do not torrent and such.
But i got a call from verizon to upgrade to 75 down and 35 up for 5$ more a month so i figured i would give it a try. Well it was worth it now i am getting 85mbps down and 30mb up.

Great news! We've increased your Internet speed!

Now we have doubled the speed of your Extreme 50 Internet service, with download speeds up to 105 Mbps and upload speeds up to 20 Mbps.

Here in the Atlanta area the price of the Extreme 50 package just became the price point/service point for the Extreme 105. Wh00t!

Edit: They also turned on IPv6!

Just. Not. Fair!

To that end I spend a lot of time enjoying the real world other than the virtual.

Same Comcast service in the new house is basically the same as the old apartment being in the same town and all. Ping to Chicago is less though.

Considering my very very rural location, I'm not doing that bad. :) At least I don't have a bandwidth cap with my ISP, and I have full unadulterated access, unlike what Comcast and Time Warner provide.

Standard FIOS. Not blazing (at least by the results here) but works well for us, even with the wife working from home 70% of the time.

Fiber to the house, not sure what's beyond that. Just got set up today, but pretty much everyone I've talked to has talked about how fast it feels. TR loads instantaneously - I always felt like on Comcast it took sites longer to display than it should. Still have the Comcast modem set up until I take it back to them tomorrow and I've switched my PC between them a couple times to make sure it's not a placebo. Definitely not a placebo.

Hey, derFunk, what's the real name of that ISP? You're fairly close to me, and I'm interested in any alternative to Comcast.

Download: 24.38 Mbps
Upload: 2.51 Mbps

Not so bad. A year ago I had 15 down and 1.5 up.

Wish I had more upload, it tops out at 12 Mbits something. I could get up to 50Mbit upstream, but thats Another 13% on the monthly cost which is already ~$70... oh well, someday when I have offsite backup I might get it.

But I do get a straight 250Mbit/12Mbit on my 250/10 docsis 3 cable subscription, and good latency to boot, so that is very decent.

Bloody Scandis [/complete humor]. 30 down, 5 up, plus a bazillion channels I never watch (though the wife & daughter do) and it's $185/mo. I don't even want to think of the monthly cost of a Comcast Business plan that allows 50MBit up.

If you add the TV and stuff its closer to $140 for me though... but then I dont have any special Movie packaged, just the larger base package.

But don't get me started on tv. It feels like a 4th world country here sometimes.
What I really hate is when they call you and... you wan't some HD channels.
- Sure...
Then buy this packaged with 20 normal channels and 2 HD channels for Another $75

There is still NO technical reason not to sell the HD channels separately(tons of normal channels are), but NO, they want us to get 20 useless one to go with the few you might want and call it a "great deal".
And then they have the stomach to charge us an Encryption fee as well.

I didn't know that Comcast was operating in Sweden.

Work ISP started their DOCSIS 3.0 rollout. :D

Supposedly when the rollout finishes and they get rid of all the 2.0 equipment on their network they will be boosting the upload as well.
