Try this address from either PC

64.233.217.2

It a DNS server that is on my network. My concern is that your ISP has turned off the ping responce on their DNS server. Unusual for DNS server, but some do it.

from PC#2

ping 192.168.0.1

Sorry about the 10 network, it is the numbering scheme I use all the time. I forgot you were using 192. :-?

Ok, I'm stumped. PC#2 should be able to ping PC#1 using the 192.168.0.X addresses and vice versa. If you run a ping you should get a response from the other machine. This is one reason that the internet connection sharing is not working. The other I think is with the setup of ICS itself, but once again I've never used it so I don't know what to tell you.

It's at this point I would like to be physically there to see everything and have a look at what is going on. Simply because everything else looks right.

Sorry I can't help you more then this.

Thanks for everything man, I don't know how im going to get these ones done. I've done so much do you think a reformat on both would help anything? Then start over again. If I do that, should i use the Network wizard with xp, or set it up manually?

naw, try un-installing the network adapters and protocols. reboot then reinstall. Sometimes that has fixed things for me.

ive had a problem similar to this before i think. make sure you have net bios enabled on both computers. make sure that you dont only have one protocol installed (the microsoft file and printer sharing one)

Yes, this is a flame.

Did you actually bother to read my post above about what default gateways are and how to configure them?

Wasted time is not good for anyone :-? [/b]

Um I did, but I can't even seem to get the two PCs to ping each other and the default gateway is irrelevant in that issue, if they are on the same subnet.

I think I've pretty much tried everything. Could it be an issue with my isp? Maybe I should call them and see what they have to say

Right now you need PC#1 and PC#2 able to ping each other on your network. Your ISP has nothing to do with that.

if ur desprate, you caould always reformat both, but have then connected while windows is installing. set the workgroup to mshome or something in windows setup and it should detect everything automaticly. this is almost garranteed to work, as it will reset everything to default, and the default settings always work (well, have for me), then its just a little bit of tweeking to get it setup the way i like it. have these computers always been connected, or did you just join them? if they have always been single and then you connect them, it could cause probs, i dont no.
