Need help with a 2Wire 3600HGV + other router setup

Mon May 21, 2012 12:32 am

I just recently switched from Bellsouth DSL to U-Verse, and I'm having a hard time with the 2Wire 3600HGV modem/router's configuration interface.

I have a Linksys on dd-WRT that I would like the 2Wire to point to i.e. I use the Linksys for DHCP et al, but I'd like the 2Wire to handle the PPPOE. But I would also like to utilize the 2Wire's wifi as an internet-only access option for guests.

Linksys (192.168.0.1) Settings
Connection type: Static IP
WAP IP address: 192.168.1.25
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.254
Local IP Address: 192.168.0.1
DHCP Server enabled
DHCP Start IP address: 192.168.0.101 (I have a desktop on static *.100)

How should I setup the 2Wire (192.168.1.254) to forward traffic to the Linksys? Again, I'd still like to utilize 2Wire's wifi, e.g. leave DHCP enabled on it, for guests to be able to connect to the internet but not be able to get to anything behind the Linksys.

I would look at my old Motorola modem/router setup to reference how I did it there (although the user interface is greatly different), but sadly I don't remember what password I setup on it.

Thanks all.
