And the taste of irony is...Apple flavored

Thu Jul 30, 2009 7:37 am

For years now we've been hearing how secure Apple stuff is..blah blah blah.
Many Windows users pointed out how hackers would never bother going after hardware/software with such small market share.
Now Apple has a very popular device(iPhone) and whattya know....the hackers have proved our point.

There was something similar on Macworld, about how they could take down cell networks temporarily or boot other phones off the network. The difference is that you think that what they suggest is possible and I think it's a load of BS that Apple is using as a (completely lame) excuse to keep their phones locked to their carrier of choice.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Yeah, it's just Apple trying to scare the US government into not making jailbreaking phones legal.

If this was actually a problem wouldn't it have affected far more open phone operating systems?

Is this why most government officials use Blackberrys?

I don't see how this is the government's problem. You can buy unlocked phones from many legal vendors. What stops those phones from doing what apple is suggesting? I am asking a serious question here since someone may know what the differences are without delving into too much research.

Jason Mick posts are always a good source of comedy, either from the post itself or the comments that ensue.

Funny, not too long ago I posted in front page comments that Apple needs to be more concerned about iStuff security than Mac security. I guess they read my comment and ran with it...all the way to the gubment !
