Media Player 9 vs iTunes?

I was wondering what iTunes has that Media Player 9 doesn?t have?

God, probably a lot less bloat and the ability to play quicktime files. I know you can get WMP to handle at least some quicktime codecs but it's can be painful. Personally, I just use xine/mplayer which are both considerably lighter than either and play realmedia, quicktime media, windows media, all divx codecs, etc. They also decode with considerably less CPU time (especially mplayer) and in the case of mplayer it can do additional postprocessing (above and beyond what the codec can do).

You'll be able to see for yourself by the end of the year. iTunes is being ported to Windows.

Seriously, iTunes is stupid simple compared to other music players/organizers. It's very flexible and you can do some serious scripting with it on the Mac. I doubt the PC will support scripting since there is no built in scripting utility for WindowsXP.
