New MBP owner, some questions

Tue Feb 26, 2013 4:40 pm

Hi Guys,

I finally bit the bullet and picked up a beautiful 15" MBP Retina (upgraded model with 16GB and 512GB SSD). I am busy installing my apps now (Office, Steam, WoW, Fusion..).

On my Windows 7 machines, My Documents, Music, Photos, etc are all set up to point to network shares. I have a 2008R2 file and media server. How do you set up a Mac to be similar to this?

Also, iTunes will most likely give me fits.. I point iTunes to a network share, the index file is there, but when I open it, it has to re-find all the music files, then if I open same library on a Windows machine, it does the same thing.

Thanks.

Thanks, I am trying that out.

Its been great fun trying to learn all the gestures, and its nice having a "real" Mac instead of a Hackintosh, software just works lol
