Anyone enter the TechTV Screensavers' Mod Contest?

Thu Sep 11, 2003 11:49 am

I'm sure some of us watch TechTV and The Screensavers, right :wink: Well, they had a contest where you sent in photos of your best Mod, and they choose the top 5. The top 5 Mod's have to mail their Mod into The Screensavers, they show them on-air...and the winner is voted.

Best Part - Winner and guest get flown to San Francisco to be on TSS and gets a $10,000 Versalaser!!

So, did anyone enter?? :D

Lol...Actually, I pulled some all-nighters and made something. But, until the contest is over, it's hush-hush... :wink:

I had a pretty good mod going, but decided to overhaul like 2 days before the contest was announced. Not enough time to finish. Maybe next year.

Since you didn't make it in, what were you going to do? Standard modding fare, or something crazy like these guys (I REALLY hope they didn't enter!);

Well, they have started to release the top 4 finalist. From these 4 the winner will be voted and will get the Versalaser.

I have to say, I am VERY disappointed that this made it in.

That is not very much of a mod, looks like he just threw the board inside with the wires going everywhere. Not very impressive at all, I agree that it should not have made it in.

I know, that's what I was thinking. In the words of Monty Python "It's only a model" :roll:

There are so many REALLY cool things he COULD have done to make that cool, but didn't...

Yes it could have been done a lot cooler, but it looks like he did not really try that hard. Most likely there is a star wars fan on the board and that is why it got picked.
