Rackmount Cases

Anyone know some good places to buy cheap rackmount ATX cases?

I've found a few places, but they are expensive and have all the bells and whistles on them. I'm just looking for an aTX case tipped on it's side with rails and mounting brackets for a rack or cabinet.

I don't need redundant power supplies and hotswap bays.

I finally decided to get all these cases up of the desk and floor and into something neater. Like a cabinet if I can.

Please define expensive.

Rackmount cases are typically more expensive than the equivalent upright or desktop case.

The very best seem to be (from what I've read) Cooler Master and Supermicro. I really like the Cooler Master 4U models (I think they were something like ATC-401 or 410--can't remember). The Antec, Chenbro and other models I've seen look cheesy, but they may be of equal quality, design and utility.

I take it you're considering replacing your existing setup with a number of 4U cases... right?

$250 and up is a little expensive. Especially for a box that has a MB, 1 HD, CR-ROM, Floppy, NIC, Vid card. These are test boxes, or a simple server. Don't need a lot of bells and whistles.

Yes I'm looking to replace my boxes with a bunch of 4u cases.

I know I've seen them for about $100-$150 which is were I like to keep the price.

Now if I can just remember where.....

I have never bought anything from these people, but they had some cheap 4U cases at a computer fair over the weekend.

Although you'll find them cheaper on places like Techstore.com among others.

Sorry, but the antec stuff is too high. Besides I don't need power supplies. If the case can take a ATX power supply, I would just gut the cases I have power supply and all. Since I won't need the cases I have anymore. except for maybe a little testing.

It just might try one of those cases you listed fink. $85-$100 bones is a fantastic price and just what I'm looking for.

I'll let you know. Right now I have to find something to mount them in. :)
