Anyone else think this idea semi-decent but the implementation that Soldam had for it just sucks?

I mean I can envision a nice solid oak desk with components built-in. I mean you don't even need the glass top just something that'll help minimize floor/desk space used.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't AMD say the Athlon isn't designed for a desktop case? I read that in a pdf somewhere, probably the one about installing the chip... I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that it's said somewhere on Intel's site that the P4 is designed for Tower cases as well...

Uhhh... are you serious? I think if anything, a Dekstop would dissipate heat BETTER than a tower because the chip is facing up... I've been running my AXP 1600+ in a enlight desktop case for like, 4 months now... and its fine.

Regardless of how it is facing a normal desktop case compared to say a mid-tower has less space that isn't occupied by some sort of heat producing object. The smaller the case the more you have to worry about air flow and what not.
