Lian Li PC-K10B or Antec P182 ?

Tue Oct 21, 2008 1:23 pm

I'm looking for a case for my system. Would like to have Mid tower, preferably no front door, no side windows, good ventilation... It will house E8400, ATI 4850 and 1..2 hard drives. I've read many good stuff about P182 for its low noise and good build quality. Would it have no front door and no top vent - I would take it with no questions. I also come over this Lian Li PC-K10B http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811112155 and liked it's 3 x 120mm fans, good design. A little more expensive than P182 but not by much. My previous box had Lian Li case. The only problem was some occasional vibration of the side panels. They are just aluminium sheets without anything to stop them from bending. P182 side panel have this cross-like thing that should prevent them from vibrating/bending.

So does anyone have opinion on which one is better ?

I like the antec cases more than lian li ones. The airflow in the antec is more well thought out. Lian li cases always have retarded intakes that are too restricted to do anything. I've even seen some where the front fan is useless because the bezel is sealed shut!

I haven't seen the Lian Li case, but I like my P182. The side panels are very solid and tightly fitted, so no worries about vibration. The door folds back flat against the side of the case if you don't want it in the way, but this does make the case slightly more noisy and a lot more ugly.
