I am looking into my power supply options for a near future Core i7 Build. I was originally looking at a PC Power & Cooling 750W Silencer but I am afraid there may not be enough head room in that power supply for my intended build (4 SATA hard drives, 6 Filled DDR3 DIMS, overclocked Core i7, 280GTX (possible second card later), 2 optical drives, 5-6 fans). Does anyone have any experience with this Corsair power supply or their power supplies in general? I have always stuck to PC Power & Cooling but the modular cables along with the slightly lower price make the Corsair a possible attractive choice. Any criticism would be greatly appreciated, be it about me aiming to high for my power needs or about that PSU its self or even a better alternative.

The PC power and cooling silencer 750Watt, and the corsair HX620Watt are two I've used, but the HX620 is awesome but isn't made by the same company as the HX1000. Once you get to the 1Kwatt level though it's probably not going to make much difference. I mean look at the 2 4870X2s in a system, and the total system draw from the TR GPU reviews. 1KWatt would probably be fine.

I'm not entirely sure you need 1000W.
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

Unless he decides to add a third 280gtx for some nice F@h points. :D
