Which power supply do you recommend?

I was trying to figure out why my sister's computer was unstable when I finally figured out it was the power supply. It was a mega crap cheapo 300W. Anyways I'm giving here my power supply and am looking to get something a little more powerful for my comp. I'm looking for something cheaper than $50 USD. What would you recommend?

I've had no problems with Enermax PSU's, despite my tendency to view empty slots and bays as 'unfulfilled potential'

A friend is partial to Sparkle PSU's because of similar experience. I would recommend a little more price flexibility (60-70 $) for an Athlon system. Try http://www.newegg.com - they usually have good component prices.

Antec TruePower, Enermax, PC Power and Cooling. Sparkle is ok too. Some of the old school... NMB, Fortron-Source, etc.

As long as it's from an established reputable company you're probably better off.

Problem is Newegg doesn't ship to Canada. I don't have a lot of spare cash so the price range I'm looking at is actually less than about $70 Canadian. The Enermax 350W is exactly that. So I'm wondering if there's anything better for the price?

Im not taking price into consideration here, but Antec True Power supplies and Enermax are two of the best.

Was thinking of getting one myself. Their 420W version with "Active PFC" got a good review, and the prices are nice.

Enermax, Vantec, and Antec are the psus I have used in the past with no problems. Get the one that fits your price range, and you should be fine.
