Hi Guys

About a week ago my pc stop powering up, the lights on the mobo come on but no fans or booting or anything. My local pc expert (which is usualy right) said to me over the phone it wont be my psu because if its giving all 1 voltage it should be giving all of them. He advised me its the mobo. Bought a new mobo and still got the same prob doh! Ive used a multi meter on the plugs inside the case and get 5v on some things nothing on alot of the plugs. Its broken right? (psu fan not spinning either)

Can someone pls surgest a decent and cheap psu that will run this and leave some room for expantion. My old power supply is a galaxy 850w.

How about the OCZ ModXStream Pro 600 for $75 - 25 MIR?

How old? Enermax Galaxy has a 5 yr. warranty you know?
I'd look at RMA.

Newegg doesnt ship to England unfortuntely, but i`ll deffinatly check that make of psu out. Ive voided any warrenty on my Galaxy by opening it to look for internal fuses, there isnt any btw. Thanks for the advice, Anyone thats got a reliable cheap psu they recomend that will run the above system please let me know. To many to choose from all with 5 star reviews as usual

If he is local why not just bring it to him for some troubleshooting?

I've heard people mention poor performance on those ModXstream PSUs. They claim the problems come from cheap capacitors in the ModXStream units.
This is all second hand info though...so take it for what it's worth.

Was lucky i went for the Corsair 650TX then Hopefull tomorrow i might be up and running again. While i remember, as i bought a new mobo and didnt need 1, i have a xfx 750i sli for sale if anyone wants it. Used ofc but in good nick and still boxed.

Why bother with Ebay, there are plenty of $15 PSU (Well actually about 1/4 of the parts really required to actually be called a PSU) available on Newegg.

If you want to see fry your computer, go for it.

Corsair 650TX or Corsair HX650 is the way to go. They make great PSU's with 7 year warranties. I use to be an OCZ fan but ever since I got my first Corsair PSU I've been using them/recommending them in any build that I have been a part of.
