I want a case to build an econobox for my bedroom,

Noise is not too much of an issue as I have a loud fan in there on most of the time anyway. My issue is that I am extremely sensitive to lights when trying to sleep and this PC I want to be powered on 24/7.

So I want a case without LEDs, without a bright power light, without a bright HDD light.. without any lights period.

If I can get it for under $100 I am willing to accept some cuts in other areas. (as far as components it will be using something similar to the current back-to-school 2013 econobox).

Amazon reviewer say the "NZXT's H2" has a VERY bright HDD access light and a 'special' power LED. So that is out.

The econobox's "Corsair Carbide Series 200R" also has amazon complains of a bright power LED.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Best bet mate - pick a case you like without a window, and neglect to plug the power/HDD LED cables in. As long as your case fans don't have LEDs in them, you're golden.

I second that. As long as there's no LED fans, you don't HAVE to connect hdd / power LED's just because they're there. Simple solution.

If you dont even want the cables to tuck away, just pull the case LED's out of their mounts. It's not difficult. I've always changed the hdd/power LED's on all my personal cases. (I hate blue)

If you still want the lights but don't want them as bright, you can modify the LED's rather than replace them:

Many cases still use the bullet-shaped LEDs held in place by plastic clips. You can easily remove the LEDs and file the rounded nose of the bullet flat, and the roughened surface left by the file is great for sharpies or other permanent marker.

It's still bright enough to be visible during the day but when I've done this in the past, it's been a dramatic reduction of brightness at night when the lights are off.
For one particularly obnoxious LED, I filed it flat and put a big thick glob of hot-melt glue over the top -that also worked wonders.

My cooler master haf 922 came with 2 200mm fans and a 120mm fans and it is very very quiet 19db or so since the 200mm fans run at 700-900rpms put do push a nice flow of air without making a air flow noise. The power light and the HDD light are on the top of the case and they are not bright at all, nothing a couple tiny circle cutouts of black electrical tape with a razor blade could not fix without making it look bad if they annoy you by chance.
The front 200mm fan on the HAF 922's come in red or blue......but they were kind enough to add a button to turn off the leds on the fan without shutting the fan off.

Its a large Midsize case that just about anything you could want install into it will fit. It is a very airy case and keeps all components very cool. It is the perfect case for that nice passively cooled PowerColor HD 7850 SCS3 video card since you can move the top 200mm exhaust fan into a side intake fan that would keep that passively cooled HD7850 cool as a cucumber. I know when I fist swapped the fan from the top to a side intake it dropped my 560yti SLI setup at least 5-10c in temperature and they are actively cooled cards.
