Seasonic SS-430HB PSU with a GA-H87-D3H -- would that work?

PSU has a '20+4'pin main connector and a 1x12v 8pin, which seems to be what the mobo requires, but I guess I just wanted to double check my thinking with you guys.

I remember hearing something about an 'artificial' PSU spec being published for Intel mobos several years ago, so I just wanted to double check this with my fellow gerbils et al. This is not a power hungry build, but rather just an upgrade for continual 'family duty' service. I'll just be paring the mobo with a i5-4430 and using the integrated video, for example.

If my quick search is correct, that is the S12-430, which came out around 2005. It should run the system fine, the only catch is it lacks 'Haswell compatibility' which only really affects which sleep states you can enable if you're going to sleep the system at all. http://techreport.com/review/24897/the- ... t#seasonic

Should be just fine. If you're really worried, as already noted, make sure the Haswell C6/C7 deep sleep states are disabled in UEFI and you'll be fine.
