Ok I'm wondering what kind of cheap dual processor boards are out there? I'm thinking of mainly something that would support P3s or would it even be worth digging up an old board that would support dual celerons? Anyway any suggestions you give will be great.

The only really cheap ones I know of are based on VIA chipsets. If you're comfortable with that you can do a search on Pricewatch and find a boatload of them. The cheapest (good) BX one I see is a SuperMicro for $155

Are the ones based on VIA chipsets decent or should they be avoided?

SuperMicro is a top name. I'd avoid mixing SMP and budget, though. One or the other will suffer and die.

A Tiger MP + a pair of Durons is pretty dang cheap these days. As an added bonus, it will lay the smack down on dual P3s. If you still want for more, it leaves you a nice upgrade path.

ANApex, my experiences with dual Via-based motherboards and the P3 have not been great. OK, but not great.

ANApex, I think this may be exactly what you're looking for:

Brand new review of the Iwill DVD266u-RN. It supports Tualatins as well.

This roundup at Anand's is about value dual 370 boards:

Pay special attention to the oddest bastard of a board the world has ever seen, the 815EP-based dual processor Acorp 6A815EPD.
