Two duallies on this desktop:

An Asus P2B-D @ 133FSB running 600 Coppermine E's @ 800 (hardmodded to EB and 1.85v) w/ 512MB PC133 CAS2 RAM, and a Tyan Titan Pro 1668S running a pair of 180 PPros @ 233 w/ 256MB EDO RAM (an oldie but a goodie!).

Dual 21" monitors @ 1600x1200 on the Asus box, with one of 'em shared by the PPro via a button on the monitor (dual inputs).

Oh, they're both pure-SCSI architecture -- it makes that legendary SMP smoothness all the more creamy... :)

Very soon for me too, I'm waiting for the MPX boards to drop ~$200 range. But I will prolly pick up one of those ECS D6VAA's for $50 bucks though

I have the ASUS A7M266 motherboard, w/ a 1.4 Ghz Athlon T-bird. I'm interested in two primary issues: 1) I'm new to overclocking, and want to learn everything I can. 2) Whether I would benefit from SMP. I just like speed...period. Not doing any significant graphics, just my load of programs on Windows XP - Home Edition. . .to date. Appreciate your input.

Heh i'm still using my old Spitfire 650 @ 850.
Don't plan on dualling anytime soon...

I'd rather go all out and go 4x. :wink:

I want to build a duallie around either the Asus or the Tyan MPX motherboards. For now I've got my poor man's Beowulf cluster. Two K6-3 450's, Two slot-A 700MHz and 900MHz. All linked on a 100 base T D-Link 701 switch. I used the fastest all SCSI system. Access to other three boxes via network using VNC. Mostly do SETI with the other three.

Benchmarks, even the "multi-threaded" (launch another copy, will you?) ones do a grave injustice to SMP. There's nothing like that clean, responsive feel - it makes Win2k jump on command like text-only Linux, makes bloatware a non-issue, and leaves the user spoiled forever and cursing the HP/Intel OEM trash they stuck you with at work.
