The 845D platform is running a very slow memory speed giving an unfair impression of the 845D platform's performance. Their 845D system running 3GHz scores only 2086/2086 in the Sandra 2002 memory bench - my system delivers 2651/2645 in that same test. If they had used some decent DDR RAM they could have run 364MHz memory instead of 274MHz and shown us what the 3GHz Northwood on an 845D platform can REALLY deliver....

I should add that they used the x2 memory multiplier on the 845D system instead of the x2.66 multiplier. I assume this is because their DDR wasn't fast enough to hit 364MHz. The Kingmax PC2700 DDR I bought would have been better for their 845D system because then they could have used the x2.66 multiplier and hit 364MHz memory speed.

By using slow DDR it crippled the 845D system's scores in tests where memory bandwidth is important and it reflects badly on the 845D.

Hey, I sound like some sort of 845D/DDR fanatic!!! Cool.
P4 Northwood 2.0A @ 2.64GHz (20 x 132)
Asus P4B-266 (i845D) @ 528MHz (4 x 132) FSB
512MB PC2700 5.0ns DDR @ 352MHz (2 x 176)
GF3 Ti200 @ 220/500 core/memory
