Synchromesh wrote:Glad to see this thread. After a major disappointment with mediocrity of Bulldozer I'm pondering going Intel after 9 years of AMD which started back in 2002 with Athlon 2100+ Palomino. I'll might be jumping from Ph II 945 (95W) to i5 2500K so my gain would be slightly less massive than yours but I reckon it will still be worth it. Current Ph II was barely enough to game at 2560x1600 at decent settings. Hopefully 2500K will be more up to the task.

You sure can. You'd get a lot more points on the i7 though. OC that thing to 4.0 and throw bigadv on there!
Synchromesh wrote:Both boards are made by Asus. Aside from the fact that AMD board was mATX and hence had less slots than Intel-based Asus mobo I don't see any significant killer features aside from easier overclocking. Am I missing something?

I have the passkey for Frankie. If you get an smp client setup let me know and I'll shoot it over to ya.

I got it up and running, only the CPU one. I feel like I might have set it up wrong. I have it set to take up 100% CPU since I"m not on it right now, but its only utilizing 12% of the processing power. Any ideas?
