[AMD APU] Is it possible to underclock the CPU core only?

Postposted on Sun Aug 24, 2014 12:39 am

Is it possible to underclock only the CPU core of an AMD APU like Trinity or Kaveri, without underclocking its GPU core? It's even possible to underclock the CPU core while overclocking its GPU core?

More tips are welcome. Many thanks.

Yes and yes. And there's an easy way to do that to with a Kaveri APU (don't know about the older APU). I'm currently using Biostar Mainboard with Kaveri 7850K, and you can choose the TDP between no adjustment (95W), and anything between 45-65W.

Thanks, that's good news indeed. What software you're using, by the way? Or are you just using the BIOS?
