Has anyone here used <a href="http://www.kdevelop.org/">KDevelop</a>?

I have been wanting to get into Linux programming and this looks like an excellent programming tool.

How does it compare to the MS Visual series? How quickly can you generate KDE programs? etc...

I've used it

I've used KDevelop a bit, although it was over a year ago. Still, by that time, it seemed a good option to bigger development tools, as long as you aren't involved in very large projects. Let's say that it's perfectly adequate for small and medium-scale stuff. Plus, it's very well integrated with the GNU tools (gcc, gpp, etc..)

I think KDevelop is better than having a large number of terms open in an attempt to make refering multiple files easier...

I have used KDevelope and am very pleased with it. By far, it is the best programming environment that I have every used. I'm sure that there are better ones out there, but they will probably cost you a pretty penny too. I see no reason not to use KDevelope since you are just starting to get into Linux programming.

I guess I will just have to play around with it and start writing some code.

I'm just too used to MS programming.
