Favourite web editors

Hi,
I'm doing a bit of amateur web design involving HTML (obviously), CSS, MySQL, PHP and ASP (the latter two not together, of course, the second is going to be rewritten in the first). I'm guessing that several experienced webmasters (not least the TR crew!) inhabit these forums, so my question is - what editor(s) do you use?
I'm not looking for a WYSIWYG editor. I'm not entirely sure what to look for in a plain editor, but I've found that intelligent tab support and language-sensitive syntax highlighting both come in handy (particularly when glancing through code at speed). Do any of you have any suggestions for editors supporting (i.e. not accidentally destroying, like Frontpage likes to do with my ASP pages, and preferably having features facilitating the development of) the above languages? Freeware would be a good thing I'm running Windows, though if you know a really good Linux editor do post that too as I've got a sort of dual boot running.
Thanks in advance!
