Finally made the switch and got it up and running. I'm so glad too. It's even smaller than I thought it was from the pictures. That's a good thing though.

SN45G
XP2500 @ 200 x 10.5
1 gig corsair 3200LL (2x 512)
Sapphire 9700pro @ 390/335 (vantec iceberg4 cooler)
WD 120gig SE
Lite-On dvd/cdrw combo drive
floppy (still need it sadly)

Best of all it's rock solid stable so far. I used a good application of Arctic Silver 5 for the cpu and video card. It runs alittle hot, but stable so it's all good.

Picture! (Don't laugh at my assy attempt at coloring the floppy drive black. It reallly dosent look that bad in person. )

Looking good there pez. Should consider some modage for better airflow.

The floppy coloring isn't that bad. A fine-tipped black sharpie should fix that.

That's what I used haha, it only looks messed up on pictures. In person you can't even tell the color difference between the cdrom.

I was thinking of doing some sort of air intake mod. But I don't really know where to do it at on the case. hmm....

Why did you not just buy a black floppy? They are almost the same price, and you would not have to worry about it looking bad.

That would have been a good solution too, but I plan on getting something else to stick in the 3.5 bay soon. Maybe a nice flash media reader or some sort of fan intake do-diggy.

Something like this maybe....

I'm just not sure if it is an intake or exhaust fan. It dosent really say.

You could get one of these, it supports a floppy and the various flash media formats: Newegg Link

Looks nice Pez. The floppy isn't too bad. I need to get my hands on a cube.

I wedged an extra fan in my Shuttle SFF cubes off of the trailing edge of the AGP card, blowing across the bottom of the HDD and across the RAM. 2 sided tape keeps the thing in place, and I'm sure that the exhaust fan in the cube keeps it moving. if anyone wants pictures, drop me an email and I'll send some.

Looks good bro.
I put a second hard drive in my floppy bay before I sold it.

I wanted more storage much more then i wanted a floppy there.
I never got around to RAIDing the drives, but I did think about it.

Mine was a 1.8A P4 System and didnt run hot at all.
Lastly, I do own a USB Floppy and USB card reader, so I use those instead of installing it into the Cube, and I can always move them to other systems as well.

It sounds like an exhaust fan to me. Perhaps there's a way to jerry-rig it into an intake.

OOOOOO.... That's exactly what I was looking for, I still use my floppy for various things but a compact flash reader would also be dandy for my various cameras. I'm giving this some serious thought, thanks for the linkage!
