Wow this SFF forum is pretty dead. I am still the last poster on here.
Anyway, I ordered it, newegg delivered in two days, excellent service as usual.
I have not had one single thing wrong happen to me with this yet. I don't believe I will ever build another full/mid tower again unless all the companies that make SFFs go out of business...
What happened was, I was planning on hauling my huge heavy tower to a LAN night again when the UPS truck came by at around 8:20PM. So I go and quickly put all of my parts into the Shuttle, and since it is also an NF3 250 based motherboard, I immediately got into windows and could fire up all my games without any issues whatsoever. Not a single game crash the whole night.
The next day I experiment with fan speed settings and discover that keeping the ICE fan at ~1800RPM, the CPU temperature rise when I put a full load on it is really really different from what i had experienced with my earlier setup. Here the temperature slowly starts creeping upwards, but oh so slowly.. After 20 minutes of prime95 torture test the CPU temperature went from 37C to 40C. I turn off P95 and the temp hovers comfortably around 39C. Although, by now, several hours later it's gone down to 34.. It doesn't look like I'll be turning the fan up very much.
Heck my freakin X800XL's core temperature is 39C right now. Jesus christ. The hell's with them GF6x00's doing 60+C idle???
God I have to turn on CnQ and see just how low it can go...
I dont know what to make of this because either my temperature sensors are totally borked or this shuttle is a masterpiece.
Highly freakin recommended.
Heck even the onboard sound is kick-ass compared to the one on the K8N Neo Plat.. I can actually listen to music right off the computer now.
Stay tuned for overclocking.
Ok I did some light overclocking, 2.52Ghz was stable but 2.62Ghz was not. Plus the 2.52 (with the RAM running in sync) was faster anyway.
Woot (see 1M):
