I plan on moving my rig into one of these things... I'm just worried about my video card, which with its AGP bridge chip is one of the longest boards around.. 9 inches long. I'm wondering if it is going to fit in this shuttle.

Also I'm not sure whether I would be fine with the 240W PSU it comes with.. I'm told that they are PFC... Will my two hard drives (1 is 10k rpm) and 3700+ and X800XL overload it?

Aside from that.. any other general opinions regarding this Shuttle SFF?

It will be my first SFF system for myself but I have built one other SFF before, a Biostar IDEQ 210-something. it was one of the smoothest builds ever. I'm starting to wonder why people love their towers so much...

Wow this SFF forum is pretty dead. I am still the last poster on here.

Anyway, I ordered it, newegg delivered in two days, excellent service as usual.

I have not had one single thing wrong happen to me with this yet. I don't believe I will ever build another full/mid tower again unless all the companies that make SFFs go out of business...

What happened was, I was planning on hauling my huge heavy tower to a LAN night again when the UPS truck came by at around 8:20PM. So I go and quickly put all of my parts into the Shuttle, and since it is also an NF3 250 based motherboard, I immediately got into windows and could fire up all my games without any issues whatsoever. Not a single game crash the whole night.

The next day I experiment with fan speed settings and discover that keeping the ICE fan at ~1800RPM, the CPU temperature rise when I put a full load on it is really really different from what i had experienced with my earlier setup. Here the temperature slowly starts creeping upwards, but oh so slowly.. After 20 minutes of prime95 torture test the CPU temperature went from 37C to 40C. I turn off P95 and the temp hovers comfortably around 39C. Although, by now, several hours later it's gone down to 34.. It doesn't look like I'll be turning the fan up very much.

Heck my freakin X800XL's core temperature is 39C right now. Jesus christ. The hell's with them GF6x00's doing 60+C idle???

God I have to turn on CnQ and see just how low it can go...

I dont know what to make of this because either my temperature sensors are totally borked or this shuttle is a masterpiece.

Highly freakin recommended.

Heck even the onboard sound is kick-ass compared to the one on the K8N Neo Plat.. I can actually listen to music right off the computer now.

Stay tuned for overclocking.

EDIT:

Ok I did some light overclocking, 2.52Ghz was stable but 2.62Ghz was not. Plus the 2.52 (with the RAM running in sync) was faster anyway.

Woot (see 1M):

Yes, the forum is quiet. I keep my watchfull eye. Glad the case is working out, especially with the light overclocking. Keep us posted and the forum active. I know it'll be buzzing again as I move my rig in to an Antec Overture.

Well, no CnQ support even in the latest BIOS. in fact I noticed no new features when I flashed it. Makes me think maybe I did something wrong flashing it.

Not that it matters. ICE rules.

Interesting behavior I noticed. Switching from 40% fan speed to 50% fan speed causes my temps to be 3-4 degrees C cooler (idle temp). Let's see what happens with the fan at full blast...

[edit]

ok.. well i got bored and it was loud. It would have gotten much cooler befored the temp leveled off. Note this is without CnQ.

I have 2 shuttle boxes and I love them both as if they were my children. I had one with some temp issues, but I drilled a blowhole and put in a fan and presto! Folding and cool! I don't move them around, but I love the small footprint.

Yeah, I had two shuttles.

Unfortunately, my SN95G5 (v1.0) died recently after only a year and a half of operation.

Luckily, my old SN45 is still up and operational after much longer time frame.

They are really cool, especially when they are running circles around bigger rigs. However, the limited upgradability occassionally wears thin.

Oh well. You get what you pay for.
