Audio editing

Thu Dec 17, 2009 6:32 pm

I have a lighting job coming up this Monday and they just dropped a bombshell on me. They're looking to incorporate lightning and thunder into a home and, because I'm doing the lightning, I also need to do the thunder effects on the same trigger. :-?

The problem is, I need a 10 minute long loop of thunder effects and I have no experience with audio sampling. I need a free, easy to learn audio mixer that will let me take thunder recordings in various formats and stitch them together so I can run it off some sort of remote triggered MP3 device. I can trip the lightning effects via an audio triggered switch, it's just a matter of getting 10 minutes of clean sounding rolling thunder and an MP3 player that allows for remote/wireless triggers.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
