Um, you've already proven there is something wrong with the card, since you ran it in your old system and it gave you the same problems.

Does your system crash when you play for a while using your old video card?

Uh, yeah... What are the specs of your power supply anyway? Brand and make/type/ratings?

Well I have seen other ppl talking about the card problems , the same yellow things & there was a press release from ubisoft saying it's a known issue and they will sort it out. Nobody seems to know a work around and at the time i wasn't looking into system hang-ups during farcry.

I havn't tried prolonged gaming on the old system wih new card or vice versa. Is that what u recommend? it's just i'm tired of all the swapping around i've been doing these past days and scared i'll break something.

Here is my voltages anyway. Can we work around any simple, easy methods before getting to the swapping business if there is any :/ .

[200 fsb is usual, i musta pressed something]

Powersupply :

Antec Truepower 430 watt

"Instruction at "0x0040a31e" referenced memory at "0x00000000" .
The memory could not be read. "
Press ok to continue...

To bad the system is locked so i can't press ok :/

That sort of error is usually due to either buggy software/drivers, or bad RAM... but could be almost anything, including hard drive corruption, too aggressive OC, other flaky hardware, etc...

Did you change anything right before this started happening?
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

:waaagh:

Erm it pretty much started after a reinstall of windows & you know there is quite afew things added after a clean inst. :/
I presume i can rule out Ram as it passed Memtest86 left on for an hour, i mean that should be cool eh?
I have no form of Oc'ing going on so possibly software?
I got a new rig to get away from strange occurances lol and look haha
Thx for the time JBI ;)

You are using the Promise controller on the motherboard correct? I believe that others have reported similar issues with the onboard RAID controller being a bit flakey and resulting in lockups and reboots. Check this thread out:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/lite/t-94818.html Start reading it from the bottom of the page to see the initial problem. Some thought that the MSI board was being picky about RAM, but it looks as if it points to the embedded RAID controller. So, you might want to update both your BIOS to the latest as well as update your drivers for the RAID controller to the latest. Just a thought...

Also, your farcry problem seems to affect the X800Pro. [H]ardOCP had similar issue with different resolutions when testing the ATI part:
http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjI4LDM=

It has something to do with shadows and detail level.

I'll post more as I find it.
