Printer Fuse?

Wed Aug 04, 2004 9:17 pm

My printer *HP Laserjet Series II*got struck by lightning and now it doesn't work very well. i can turn it on, and do its own self test, everythign appears to be fine. But there is no interaction with the computer. I'v tested it on friends computers so i nkow its the printer not the motherboard or anything. I have also tried quite a few different chords. Is there any fuse that could have shut down stopping the interaction to the computer? if you have ANY info, please help.

Generally when computer parts get struck by lightning, you would be lucky if it even turns on. Most likely something inside was fried, so it is time to toss it.

And so another victim learns the value of a good protected power strip or UPS. :D

Having my motherboard fried by lightning taught me.
