Moment of silence

Well after 4 years my G400 finally decided to give up the ghost. It was a good card when I bought it and served me well while it was in my linux machine. Now it will probably end up as a toy for my technology curious 2 year old.

*honors a moment*

Don't let the child eat the capacitors. They need milk to soften them up a bit. :D

Dead may not be dead, unless you let the magic smoke out. I saw here http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopi ... 4280953165 that someone had a 'dead' G400 that they where able to bring back to life with just a bios flash.

May be worth a shot.

Dang what's described in that forum sounds exactly like the problem I'm having with my G400. And you had to post this AFTER I went out and bought a Radeon 9000 to replace it ;) (ok not quite to replace the G400, the Kyro II in my wifes replaced the G400 and the 9000 replaced the Kyro II). Nice .357 btw webhobbit, one of your own?

No not mine. A pic I found on the Net. It's a Ruger GP100 I think.

Mine are here:

DOH, slaps head!

Now stop talking about guns! Stay on topic! I'm warning you people!

That's it! You're ALL on report!

Sorry, first I had seen of the topic, otherwise I would have posted that sooner. Well, if worse comes to worst, you'll have a backup KyroII.

Well I finally got around to trying the BIOS flash on my G400 and like Jesus Christ this thing rose from the dead. Now I just need to find a computer to put it in.
