just wondering if there was any reason i shouldnt raid my 2 2tb drives, they are my storage drives as i have an ssd for the os. Is there actually any benefit to using them in a raid 0 setup

Well it would give you a speed boost over having each one separate, but if one drive fails all 4 TB is gone. I would make sure the risk of losing the data is lower than the benefit of the speed boost.

RAID 0 is neither Redundant nor, in the long run, Inexpensive.

Assuming you are using Windows NT (4?) and above, then you can just mount the drives as folders under C:. So even better.

Or, if you are using Windows 7 (and 8?), you can let the drive letters stay, but access your movies with Libraries spanning across the 2 root folders?

Kind of JBOD-ish.
