I've got a new HP ProLiant microserver right out of the box. I connected a monitor to the VGA port in the back. The VGA port is on the motherboard. I stuck in a bootable flash drive in one of the front USB ports. And stuck in a mouse and keyboard into two of the USB ports on the back.
When I power up I repeatedly hit the F10 key to try and run the BIOS startup. I see the power light go on but nothing else.
But I'm reading about a remote access card that HP sell separately for like $80. I don't need a RAC just to install an operating system, do I? Otherwise, what is the point of the VGA port on the motherboard?
I've also tried to hit the F12, Esc, F8, etc. keys. Any other tips or suggestions. Thanks.
