very big mistake GF3ti500 unreurnable!!!!

i juts purchased a geforce3 ti500 online from some dude on ebay. after I bought it i realized that it wasnt returnable!!!!!!! now i hear that it wont really give me a performance increase unless i have DDR and I dont!!! now that te GF3 is getting spanked by the GF4ti4200 i cant get it!!! my parents are getting sick of me try to upgrade every second, (from a TNT2 to a GF2mx400 to a RADEON 8500 to aGF3 ti500). do any of you guys want to buy a OEM Geforce3 ti500 referince card from nvidia from me?? what else can I do?????????????

If you've got a Geforce3, you've really got nothing to complain about. Sure, the G4 Ti4200 is out now, and it's faster, but not by that much. The G3 Ti500 is still an amazingly good card for gamers, and should keep you happy for a long time. There isn't anything coming out anytime soon that you won't be able to run with that card, I don't think there's much of a reason to upgrade to a G4, except just to say that you did. Wait around at least until NV30, nvidia's next generation gpu.

I guess you have a point. what about an athlon tbird 1GHz? for some reason, my computer keeps running game kinda crappy. is PC133 out of date? im getting an ECS mobo with DDR 333MHz. this kid sez that having a GF3 wont matter if your RAMs slow. i can get the mobo soon but not the new RAM!!!!

A 1 Ghz Tbird will not show the full potential of a Ti500. You need at least a XP 1600+ to get the card to strut its stuff.

for one thing a 1g t-bird is fine....it will not get u a 10,000 score in 3dmark but who cares....u can run any game out right now fine and at high res....ddr or no ddr. u dont not need a new card for aleast a year and half i dont think u will need one then either but some people cant wait that long..... Also u might want to check and see if u got updated drivers not just on ur video card but ur Motherboard, sound card, and what ever else might have a new driver out in ur system...... Its one thing to upgrade if u have a ego trip (i do) but dont do it if u think ur system is not good enough because it is.
