3 different Detonator drivers downloaded... all corrupt???

Thu Jul 18, 2002 8:13 pm

Hi Guys.

Just installed Windows 98 so I wanted to get my vid card working but I have downloaded 2 different drivers, one from nvidia's site, 29.**, and the other from voodoo files, 28.**. When I attempted to run the exe file and install it, it was corrupt - both times.

So I thought I might update my XP drivers, but they too were corrupt. Can anyone give me a link to some reliable detonator drivers?

Thanks
Smakky.

They are problably not corrupt. Have you tried uninstalling your current drivers then installing the dets?
Resistance is futile.

I'm pretty sure they're corrupt. One was a zip file and gave a CRC error... besides, it's a clean install of 98, so there were no drivers installed yet for the video card.

Thanks anyway. :)

I would think that nvidia would have the most reliable drivers. You might want to try installing the drivers that came with your video card and then do an upgrade. Also your zip program is capable of creating a CRC error.

If you are getting CRC errors in so many files, from such diverse locations, the problem is most likely on your end. Check your ram, ease back any OCs, and double check that OS install.

Thanks for the replies. I extracted the zip using winace, but when I get home I'll try it using the standard one under XP. My machine has been 100% reliable in everything else, so I'd be surprised if it was a RAM problem or something else. Will have more of a play around when I get home and see.

Hi, I used to get a crc error in every file I downloaded and finally found out that it was my router causing the problem. I upgraded my router firmware and the problem was gone. Don't know if you even have a router but thought I would mention this just incase you do.
