Monitor trouble

Mon Feb 03, 2003 6:35 pm

I have a proview monitor and it just died on my one day. Nothing will happen but a flickering/clicking sound comming from inside it. It doesnt even have to be on to hear the sound, just when i plug it in it starts doing it. I get no picture. Any one ever had a similar problem or know whats wrong? Sure would like to get it runnin again.

Hey-

It sounds like the AC power converter is fried. You could get the monitor repaired, but that would likely cost over $150. Better to get a new one if the monitor is out of warranty.

Just a suggestion, but I would never attempt to repair a computer monitor myself. I repair every thing else in my house, but TVs and monitors contain big capacitors that can fry you even days and weeks after they were unplugged. Just a suggestion.
