Forcing constant voltage via MSI Afterburner

Postposted on Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:40 pm

Hi guys,

There's an option within Afterburner that allows for forcing constant voltage. I never had it checked before and I'm wondering if that will have any adverse effect whatsoever if the option is checked.

Thanks! :)

Besides eating lot of electricity at ideal plus temps will be high, i don't think there will be any adverse effect. BTW, why would you want to do that ?

I've overclocked the card just a tiny bit from stock. But I'm noticing that the card doesn't sit well with the settings despite it being a mild overclock. It BSODs everytime it puts the display to sleep. I noticed the option to force constant voltage and since checking the box I haven't had any problems with the card BSOD-ing if the display goes to sleep. The higher temps aren't too much to handle although I'm monitoring it via the tray utility.
