I have a gtx 570 and I'm interested in undervolting. How would I go about undertaking such an endeavour?

No one can give advice on how to underclock a gpu successfully?

Try Rivatuner. I have used it before but to overvolt. Not sure if it will undervolt or not.

Isn't Rivatuner a bit outdated, stuck at 2.24c? That's 2 years ago!

Use Afterburn, it will let you undervolt your GPU.

NOTE: I have tried that on my card (See sig) and it is not advisable, because FPS will drop considerably.

EDIT: Ok, if you want to make a non gaming profile than it's a different story all together. Here you can create a power saving profile using Afterburn, where you can undervolt the GPU considerably and also downclock your GPU, this profile is safe to use for watching movies and other 2 D tasks. Also you can create a auto fan profile which can help further to keep the temps down.

hate to dig up an old thread but I was looking around the web to see if if anybody was undervolting their gtx570 and came across it. what you just said about fps dropping from undervolting makes no sense at all. if the clocks remain the same then the voltage being lowered has NO impact on framerates.

my stock gtx570 voltage is 1.013 but it does not oc worth a crap without a voltage bump so I got a different plan. I wanted to see how low the voltage could go at stock clocks and I was a little surprised. using Afterburner, I went down one increment at a time and finally when I got to .950 it become slightly unstable towards the end of 3DMark11. the next step up is .963 and was perfectly stable at that speed even after loops of numerous game benchmarks. I decided on .975 though just to make sure there wound not be any stability issues at all.

temps only hit 71 for a max in all the benchmarks while I was at .963 so .975 should not be more than 1-2 C difference. I think I will just leave it at stock clocks and .975 for good instead of even fooling with overclocking it.
