2 geforce gtx 470 sli vs evga geforce gtx570 superclocked

Tue Oct 25, 2011 4:13 pm

hey guys,

so this is the system I just bought:

ASUS P8Z68-V Z6
CORSAIR 750W CMPSU-750TXV2
INTEL CORE I5 2500K
4gx2 CORSAIR CML8GX3M2A1600C9B Ram
1T SAMSUNG HD103SJ
Evga geforce gtx 570 superclocked

It hasn't quite arrived yet and I am now second guessing the purchase of my GPU..

Which do you think will perform better?

2 GTX470 running SLI or sticking with the EVGA Geforce GTX570 superclocked
??

Thanks

I'd stick with the single 570. Likely less power draw, heat, noise. Plus, you avoid all the SLI-related issues.

I agree with morphine.
The 470 in SLI will perform about 10-15% better in most situations but it is power hungry. You can easily hit 550-650 Watts of total power use, and the cards will easily go over 90C in SLI configuration. In comparison with a single Geforce 570, your total computer power usage will be about 230-330 Watts at full GPU load depending on your computer configuration. It also runs about 15C cooler and with about 10-15 Db less sound than the 470 SLI well.
