Best budget GPU for triple monitor gaming

Tue Aug 21, 2012 6:51 pm

I have been trying to do research on the best Graphics Card to get for a triple monitor setup. Im not looking to spend more than $500 Canadian on it. What I am planning on doing with it is playing Guild Wars 2 with the main (middle) screen being the "play" screen, one of the side ones to have inventory, stats, etc and the last one maybe to have a wiki open. Also if you can think of a better route for this please feel free to tell me.
Thanks in advance!

Any AMD 7xxx should do this for you, and well below your budget. 7950 might be perfect.

If you're going to use Eyefinity to stretch your gaming screen across all three monitors, they must all have the same resolution and orientation. If you're just going to have a multi-monitor display with the game on one and various web browsers, spread sheets, etc open on the Windows desktop on the others, then your monitors can be different sizes and orientations. I run a 1200x1600 UltraSharp 2001FP next to my 2560x1600 UltraSharp 3007WFP.

Radeon HD7950 3GB goes for $300 Canadian.

What I actually want is to have the game guild wars displayed on 2 screens, and a web browser on the last screen, is that possible?

Yes. You can have two monitors combined into an Eyefinity group and have the third one not associated, assuming that the first two monitors have the same resolution and orientation.

This is a different solution, but I know someone who has his center monitor on his main computer for running WOW, and the 2 side monitors on a second computer for docs, web, and video - complete with independent mouse & keyboard. This way there are no context switches in & out of the game. He started this before eyefinity, though, I don't know how it compares.
