Monitor and vid card questions

Sat Oct 06, 2012 9:16 am

I recently ordered one of the korean 27" s-ips monitors http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-27-Inch-LED ... 23218b3c47.
My video card is a sapphire x1650 pro. This card isn't listed as supported, but it does have dual dvi out. I am running dual monitors now, each having it's own dvi cable connected to one of the two dvi ports on the vid card.
Is this card going to work with the korean monitor? The language on ebay makes it sound as if the korean monitor needs two dvi inputs?
If my card will work with the korean monitor, will it also push a second monitor (Asus 24" regular lcd)?

Also, last night I installed windows 8 enterprise, and never could get dual monitors to work. Or either monitor to work with proper resolution. I never could find a Win 8 driver for the 1650 pro.
I absolutely hated Win 8 for the few hours I had it installed.

My rig is 5 years old now, a gigabyte 690g board, 8gb ram, kingston ssd. I plan on replacing this box soon, so if I get a new vid card now, will I be able to move it to the new computer when I build it later? I can put a pcie 2, 2.1, or 3 in the 690g board?

I'm not really a gamer, just want good video and colors.
Can someone recommend a $100 vid card for my situation? Or should I just pick up one of the cheap supported models? Thanks in advance.

Your card should work with the new monitor and with your existing monitor, assuming that you find drivers for it.

If you want a new one, consider the Radeon HD7770 or HD7750.
