Anyways, was my last ATI/AMD card and I'm glad I removed it from my PC
My brother has crossfire 6970s in his current PC (well, BIOS-modded 6950s), and he constantly complains about them -- and then he'll turn around in the next breath and tell me how awesome they run whatever game. I've seen them perform adequately, but I've also seen the issues he's had with them.

He won't give me the pleasure of displaying open envy for my machine, but he's already parting out a Haswell machine with a pair of 7970GE. Heeheehee!

Tada! Results! Only those who posted at Extreme HD settings and so forth were added. I did the best I could with the info posted here. It is just a simple Excel 2010 spreadsheet. Feel free to post updated info and I'll update the sheet.

Hey JAE, could I ask you to run that for me again on 1080p noAA? 「(°ヘ°)

I've seen a few places -- most prominently Tom's -- list the 7770 as "similar" in performance to a GTX460, but your Extreme HD result is about half of what I got on my 460; I wonder if they aren't similar in performance but the 7770 is held back by its gimpy 128-bit memory at 8x AA?

Unfortunately, we're required to use IE8 with some fairly strict content filtering here at work, so I can't download the spreadsheet. Clicking it brings up a nanny page, and right-clicking to "Save target as..." just saves an HTM file which is just a link to the spreadsheet (which, when opened, gives a nanny page.) I'll look at it when I get home. (^∇^)

FWIW, the real-world performance of a hot-clocked GeForce GTX460 is very similar to a Radeon HD5850. I confirmed this equality when I owned both of those cards. It's possible that this Unigine benchmark, like their last effort, is a TWIMTBP tool that favors one brand over another. How did the 3DMark comparisons look?

Dunno, I've never run 3DMark.

Given cynan's excellent Valley results tho, I don't think this tool is particularly biased. ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌

Well, my 7970 is under water. I'm sure if you water cooled your Titan and overclocked it accordingly, it would put things into perspective nicely - ie, reestablish a strong 30%+ lead over the HD 7970. Plus, runs where I was scoring ~55+ avg FPS were at settings I'd not run the card at everyday, and produced the odd artifact (but never became unstable). At the higher settings I'd actually game at (ie ~1250 Mhz core/1600 Mhz mem), I don't score more than 52 avg FPS. But then where is the fun in benching conservatively? This is an e-peen fest after all, right? :D

The reason I reposted with higher scores recently is due to the new Catalyst 13.3 beta 2 drivers. It seemed to make a notable improvement in Valley. I also tried disabling hypertheading and enabling PCIe 3.0 from recommendations on this and other forums. Hyperthreading didn't seem to make any difference. Turning on PCIe 3.0 perhaps made a slight improvement, but no more than a few fractions of an (average) FPS (but this could have been attributable to natural benchmark variance).

I don't know what's up with that low GTX 680 score in the above spreadsheet... Seems like you come across the odd out of line result regardless of whether the card is AMD or Nvidia.

Perhaps! My point, though, was more that your scores are very good regardless of comparisons to other cards, so I don't think the benchmark is especially biased. I actually would trust Unigine much more than 3DMark -- or anything from Futuremark -- to be unbiased. ┐(‘~`;)┌

Agreed. Performance seems to scale more or less evenly across AMD's and Nvidia's more recent GPUs. If anything the HD 7900 series may have a slight edge over the GTX 67/80 cards at the Extreme HD settings due to 8x AA and the Radeons' higher memory bandwidth. But, overall, it seems pretty even.

Hence why I put the excel sheet together lol! I'm not seeing massive distances between cards like in 3DMark.

Yah, I probably could. Don't much care to mess with it now tho. I crammed my system into a tiny little Zalman ZM-T2 case, and the titan doesn't have great airflow, so I can't hit the speeds I used to. I can carry my PC now tho!

If anyone is wondering where I've been lately, I just haven't been posting much because I lost my other job. I don't really visit forums from home because I have a lot of better things to do while I'm at home, hehe. I hang out on IRC all the time, on Freenode and Rizon, among others, so if you're dying to get in touch with me, you can reach me there.

Here are my poor 1gb 560TI's in SLI at 950 core and 2400/4800 mem, 2600k 4.2ghz 1.27 v "its like 85-90 degrees in here sheesh" I was hitting almost 80c at 4.6ghz and 1.385 v

Needless to say it MSI afterburner showed my memory usage pegged at 1020GB. I am curious did you fellas with more then 1 GB of memory on the cards use more then a GB of video memory on ultra 8xAA ?? I think it would have been a lot better with 2 gb cards but not too shabby for some old 560s :)

Thanks man....If you used 1275MB of video memory now i really really really wish I had the 2GB GTX 560 TI's . Since my cards used 1020+MB of my 1024mb of memory.
But i wonder how much it would really help "even if i ran them a 1000+mhz over clocked like crazy" with games like metro 2033, crysis 3 etc if it would matter then since I have to run them on high settins but with no Anti Aliasing "besides FXAA on occasion" Anti Aliasing really uses up extra video memory/

I think it would help my Epeen Valley score but the newer hard to run games I do not think would benefit much at all from a 2GB card over my 1 GB cards especially since i run at 1080p resolution only.

The only games I have that constantly push the full 2 GB card limit are: The Crysis series (always around 1950MB), and Skyrim (with many mods, highest I saw was 1978MB). Everything else will play around 1GB. Metro is about 990-1100MB (if I remember right) and BF3 does some er, 1300ish? Then there are games like Borderlands that take less a nd so on. One game I have takes a lot less than I expected....I wanna say it was L4D2, taking like 600MB. But 2GB for a 1080 screen is ok for now. If you push more monitors or a higher res, then the need for more vram comes into play. The 6GB cards with a 1080 monitor is just right out silly.

I figured i would run my PCI bus powered "no PCI-E power conector HIS iCooler HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 card. I pulled out all the stops and overclocked it from 800mhz core to 1200mhz core!! Memory from 1125mhz to 1400mhz !! a amazing overclock that is stable for
3dmark11 Scored 3884 on perf/free edition setting. Also 3dmark Vantage free edition scored 14484 points a full 2000 points higher then any other setup with a i3 2120 and a hd 7750. Tried crysis 3 and the latest MOH warfighter and they both were stable. I am still in shock. Along with the shock of it running @ 90c

So here are my Valley ultra 8x aa setting results overclocked.

Smoked JAE's stock 7770...JAE Overclock that sucker :)
Amazing for a bus powered card. This is what my gateway DX-4860 UB32p that came with before i upgraded some stuff. A crappy 300watt OEM PSU, 6gb 3x 2gb 1333mhz memory, a i3-2120 on a h67 gateway/acer MB, a 1tb seagate 7200rpm drive, DVD burner drive, a PCIe 1x b,g,n wireless card, a single 80mm rear exhaust fan, a AVC Intel type CPU cooler that screws in" bit is taller and about twice the weight of a stock Intel cooler and never breaks 30% fan speed with a tube reaching out to the side panel that is full of holes so its super quiet running Windows 7 64 bit, refurbished from microcenter for $319.99
As for Upgrades The big one was the $90 His ICooler gddr5 HD 7750 graphics card, the a single $15 Elpida 2gb stick of ddr3 1333 so i had 8gb and the best memory bandwidth possible, A 120mm Enermax red magma front intake fan to keep the Chipset and graphics card cool No cost, A WD 1tb black HDD $50 and I poached my LG 8x bluray burner from my gaming tower. For a grand total of $475. Its now 1.2 years old and I still could not have built a HTPC light gaming PC for that kind of money , A fantastic find and purchase in my book. I had to replace 2 Dell HD zino HTPC's so also bought another refurbished deal from microcenter on a Gateway SX2855-UR11P slim tower model with a h61 chipset with a single 16x pci-e slot and a 1x slot, 4gb of 1333, a 1155 Celeron g530 2.4ghz dual core with a 7200rpm 500GB HD with a puny 220 watt PSU running Win 7 64 bit for 219.99. I upgraded the video card to a ASUS EAH6570/DI/1GD3(Low Profile card) for $55 and since it has the same GPU core as the HD6670 minus the gddr5 memory she overclocks on the core from 650 to 850 so light gaming works pretty good at 1080p with games like LFD2 at high settings. I also added a USB powered Thermatake adjustable speed 80mm fan to blow in on the chipset for 19.99, added a i3-2125 CPU since I had a 75$ gift card to microcenter so the i3-2125 was on sale for 119.99 so i used my 75$ gift card so i cost me $45 for a grand total of $340. So combine the 2 HTPC/light gaming systems it came to $815 to replace my 2 AMD powered original Dell HD Zino HTPC's that each had 4gb of ddr2 memory with a am2 3250e cpu "1.5ghz dual core" and mobile HD 4330 video cards with wireless built in. They cost me over 500$ each way back when. But they worked ok for 3-4 years before I replaced then with my Refurbished Gateway dream machines LOL. They both are 1.5 years old by now and i could not be happier with there perfomance. I could have never built 2 Machines with those spec and windows licences for $815.
Wow I type horrible and a lot when I had a bunch of shots of Grey Goose.

So after messing with the FFXIV benchmark a while back, I was trying to run this again to test, but it keeps crashing on me! I thought it was my OC, but resetting to stock didn't help.

Anyone else having stability problems with Valley? I'm on the latest beta driver, 334.67.
