Try this: Right-click on your desktop and select Catalyst Control Center. Select the "Performance" tab, then "AMD Overdrive". Set the fan to various speeds with the manual slider.
Tried this, and it does help. I don't mind the thing getting loud when I game, cause there's audio to mask it; it's just painful when all I'm doing is web stuff and the fan is audible.
I think I'll live with this for a while and see.
If things aren't getting better, my other option is to get a better case. I think that might be a better idea, since I don't invalidate my warranty, and I could use the space. I'm currently using an HP dx7500 micro-atx case (ah but the innards are SO much faster than anything HP'd imagined:D), so a nice mini-ATX would be good.
But let's see; I'll hold off on purchasing anything for a week or so.
