Maybe you got a flaky card? The fact that things started out good and then went downhill sounds more like failing hardware...

I know your pain, man. Try 314.22, it's the last stable driver for most people by the looks of it. All of the ones since have been fairly unstable on a varying variety of machines.

I have a GTX 680 myself and the newest drivers are a wreck of odd visual sputtering and driver resets.

I have a 560 Ti and it occasionally freezes for half a minute or so on the desktop. It only happens once every couple of days though. I think it might be related to Flash or Chrome's hardware rendering combined with the NV driver. No problems with games.

I have a GTX 560 Ti with TDR issues but the beta driver 331.93 works great and it's stable for me.

Note i'm running on Windows 7 64 bit and i only have 1 card. Idk how it will work with SLI or other OS versions.

So I am in the same boat as you. For a couple of weeks now, my laptop would crash (screen blacks out and after a few seconds it freezes) when I would play a YT video in Chrome. My first though was Flash was being a bitch. I never got a chance to test this against HTML5 yet. My 2nd thought was the card was overheating. Before I had a desk, where my laptop was elevated on the back side so the airflow would be better. Now I just have the laptop on my lap or my bed, where airflow is not optimal. And for the past few days I kept thinking it may be the heat, as my screen would black out when I would open a new tab or tab to another window in Chrome. I never had this big of an issue on the previous driver so I may try to roll back my video card drivers. Also my card is a Quadro 3800FX M.
